You Can Make a Difference

The current group of Hudson DART volunteers have a wide mix of backgrounds and reasons for choosing to participate in this effort. However, we all share a love of animals, a desire to help our community, and a commitment to developing a professional caliber emergency response plan that will work for our community’s pets and (of course!) the people who love those pets.

We would very much welcome more volunteers, and can accommodate a wide range of commitments. Obviously, everyone has other responsibilities. The personal qualities that we are looking for in our volunteers include respect and courtesy for others, comfort interacting with both people and animals, and trustworthiness.

We do have specific training and affiliation requirements, as follows:

  • Complete the Hudson DART Volunteer Application and the CORI Acknowledgment form.

  • Join one of Massachusetts’ Medical Response Corps (MRC) teams. The MRC is administered by the Board of Health of each town. If your town does not have an active MRC, you can join Region 4A MRC.

We also encourage but do not require volunteers to complete two online courses provided by the Federal Emergency Management Association:
